I was always told that a cruise ship had everything you need on board. Well they do, for a price.
This is where the panic sets in. I just had my first release and I spend hours a day blogging, sorting through e-mails, doing book reviews and just trying to stay ahead of my blog tour and marketing plan I set for the next four weeks. I was told I could purchase internet time, but it's not guaranteed. The Cruise line representative then asked who would want to waste valuable tanning time online. Well I do. I know I won't have phone access, but I"m not sure how I will survive without internet.
Then my daughter reminded me that I can still write. My computer will work on board. Then her 21 years of wisdom also reminded me that when I was younger I didn't have internet and found other ways to keep up with everyone without it. She also told me she was unplugging me for a week. I looked over at her and laughed so hard I cried. What a roll reversal. But I realized she was right. I can survive without my phone and my internet for seven days. Life will go on and everything will still be there when I get back.
But just in case I'm sneaking my phone on in my shoe and purchasing some internet time on board when she's not looking.
While I don't plan on being on board a lot I do plan on writing. Here's a glimpse into my new release.
Rescued from the Dark
Published through Black Opal Books. Released February 16, 2013
FBI agent, Jason Michaels goes undercover with the Irish Mob to get information on their gun smuggling
ring. While on assignment he realizes they have joined forces with a known
terrorist group manufacturing drugs. He searches for information to tie the two
together when he finds out they have kidnapped a fellow agent, Mercedes Kingsley, the only girl
he has ever loved. Jason soon realizes their using Mercy to perfect their
dosage and that his cover has been blown. He knows he has to save her so takes
off on a journey that will take him up
against his enemies, peers and the Agency that he loves, but willing to give up
to bring Mercy back to him.
Now what would you do if you found yourself with no phone or internet for seven days?
Until next time,
Lynda

Hi Lynda,
I imagine will take a bit of getting used to not being plugged in for a week.
In the mean time, try to enjoy your week with your daughter. I'm sure you'll find lots of fun things to do. Just think how refreshed and rejuvenated you'll feel and the experience will help you with your next book.
Janice~
Seven days. 7 days. 1+1+1+1+1+1+1 days. Nope no matter you look at it, it sounds like torture to me, Lynda.
Better take advantage of it though, because who knows when the next opportunity to spend that kind of quality time with your daughters will be?
I plan on enjoying every minute with my daughters. But I'm sure I am being taken along for the use of my credit card. But that's okay also. They bribed me with the fact that they had internet and some sparse phone use available, what they didn't tell me was the cost. I just love what two 21 year old girls will plan just to get to play in the Caribbean on their mothers money. I see my children never growing up, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
thanks for stopping by.
Lynda
My problem is I use Dropbox for keeping my writing. If I write offline without internet then I have to copy and paste it into the document. OR if I use the one in Dropbox without internet, I have two copies of it. Been there done that. I'm not sure I'd want to be without internet as a writer now. Funny thing before when I was at work and had these ideas for scenes in the WIP I'd write it down in a notebook. Funny those scenes were never transcribed to the WIP. Good luck and enjoy the cruise.
Oh my gosh, Lynda...it sounds like so much fun! Do try to enjoy some time with your girls...unplugged:) Maybe they will allow you an hour or so to write when the sun is at its highest point (so you don't get burned:)
I know that would be me, too. I'd definitely want to be able to hook up and keep my internet 'stuff' caught up or I'd be buried for days when I got home.
Biggest thing - have fun:)
