It's the Valentine Blogfest with Ravencraft Romance Realm! We have a full week of "Firsts" for you to enjoy. It's also a blog hop, so you can check out all the other blogs that post about their Firsts. :D The list of those participating is below, along with what you could win!

And I get to start the Valentine's 7-Day Blogfest off with
"First Sight."
"First Sight."
It’s said that first impressions make a lasting impression. Have you ever instantly liked that new neighbor? Instantly disliked him? How about instantly hated him, but...you couldn’t keep yourself from being drawn to him? What ever the case, there's a connection.
Call it fate, destiny, kismet…I believe some of us were just meant to be together at some level. That the “forces that be” align our lives so we meet. Nature takes it from there and with time we can really get to know someone.I have several friends that I never would have imagined would turn out that way when I first saw them. I’m so thankful to have them in my life now. The same goes for love. Not all love is “love at first sight.” Though I do believe it happens for some. Love grows as we share experiences and do really get to know that person.
Could Anna in Cornerstone Deep ever have imagined that the leader of the dark reapers chasing her would end up being the soul mate she was looking for?
Her gaze intensified as she studied the shadowed pavement. Beneath the dim light of a street lamp, dense smoke billowed, taking the form of three men. Her throat clenched. “What. In. The. World?” She spun around and ran.But then...
He inhaled the sparkling mist and leaned close. Cradling her face in his hands, he touched his lips to hers. They were warm and seductive, unexpectedly tender. The aroma of licorice and cream flowed through her.
She accepted his attention, intoxicated by the offering. In a gentle motion, the loving caress of his tongue touched hers. Eternity echoed in her heart.
While Anna’s first sight experience was that of terror, Salana had a bit of a struggle going on with her first with Chad in Aumelan.
Salana set a determined pace as she turned to leave the stranger. The staccato of her heals on the walkway played alongside her disbelief. That was highly unacceptable. He actually introduced himself and expected me to respond!
A puff of air passed her lips and she shook her head in an attempt to clear her mind. I didn’t work.
Something’s very different about him. It wasn’t his kind countenance and slate eyes…or his tall stance. He must be over six feet tall. Or his lighter than sand hair. Nicely tailored style. Or his composure. He seemed so in control—as if every move was thought out before he let it happened.
Salana paused, allowing her gaze to drift back to the young man. There he was, still watching her. How disconcerting! She returned to her pace with a pointed blinked. What is wrong with me?
But, of the three I’m sharing with you today, Linda is the one that was completely taken by James in her first sight of him in Cornerstone Deep. Their love is truly realized in Cornerstone Deep Echoes. (Sorry, but it’s in James’s point of view).
She stood there, staring at him on the threshold of Shilo Manor, her blue eyes wide and wet with stalled tears. A black band held her blonde hair and the purple cardigan she wore clashed dramatically with the lemonade sundress beneath it.
A soft breeze blew across the porch and she opened her mouth. He upped his brow in expectation. She closed it again.
James lifted a hand in a question. “Is there something you wanted, Miss?”
She blinked, looking a bit startled and laughed a breath. “I was just--I mean, wow. Elaina was right.”
“Excuse me?”
She waved a sleeve covered hand. “I thought Vince was something but, look at you. All three of you must just be--magic made flesh.”
Like it or not, there seems to be no rules when it comes to the first sight of the love of our lives. Wouldn’t it be great if there were?
What was your impression of your love the first time you saw him/her?

Good Morning Charlene!! Hugs!
I just fell in love with your words *grins*
"Eternity echoed in her heart"
"eyes wide and wet with stalled tears"
"All three of you must be magic made flesh"
Charlene...yummy stuff.
My experience with love at first sight...was before I read romance, but if I would have read one I'd have known what I experienced. LOL The locking gaze from across a crowded room, electric whips bolting through my body, butterflies in the stomach and a tremble in my legs like they'd give out any second.
It stopped me dead in my tracks until someone walking by slammed into me and I dropped a couple books from the pile in my arms.
Great Post Charlene!
Welcome to the Realm everyone! Happy Valentine's Day
I had to stop reading half way through the post to add Cornerstone Deep to m to-read list. Sounds lovely!
Good morning, everyone! Running a bit late here. I'll set the muffins on the bar...I'm sure Danielle won't mind. Help yourself and grab a drink. It's fully stocked.

Oh my, I want to know what James says to Linda after that. I've seen men who have taken my breath away, but I never would have told them!

Thank you for organizing the blog hop.
The first time I saw my love was in high school and I liked him as a friend. No sparks or anything spectacular, just one of the guys. It was seven years later when I saw him again that things changed. I guess it was love at second sight. I just felt comfortable and really could see a life with him. I'm just not a "fireworks going off type of person." We saw each other maybe 3 times (not dates, he visited the relative I was staying with). Funny, because he must have felt the same way. I was working overseas in the Peace Corps at the time and had been home for a visit after renewing my commitment for another year. Anyway, 5 months he showed up at my assignment in the Philippines and proposed. No dating for us, just jumped to being engaged. It must have been "made to be" - we celebrate our 40th anniversary this coming June.

Okay I'm getting a late start today. Ugh. Terrific post though!
I just love your books, Charlene! Your style is amazing. And great job with today's topic! :D
Danielle
From Kay Dee's wobbly legs to just feeling comfortable together... However it begins, having a love of our life is beautiful :)
Thanks for sharing.
Diane--James's first thought? "What?" But you have to know the circumstances surrounding it all. ;) He was beyond flattered, being the humble hunk that he is.
How's the hop going? Starting at it myself!
Fun post! I loved the picture with it. =)
This is my first visit to your blog. I usually don't read paranormal but my youngest daughter loves it. Glad to meet me. Please enter me in contest.

Damn...my eyes are just watering from those amazing words.
Thanks for the sneak peek.
I was lucky in love. My hubby was the first guy I ever dated, and we've been together for 37 years.

Seriously, Bri...isn't Charlene amazing! Man, you've got some creative verbaige, Charlene...truly.
The first time I saw my fella, he was standing behind one of my co-workers in the "phone room" at our suicide and crisis hotline. When she got off the phone, they spoke a few words, she stood up, and he took her chair away. I asked our secretary a little while later, "Who was that guy..." With her sly, sweet Southern accent, she said, "You mean ROGER???" I asked, demurely, "You KNOW Roger???" We were married a year later. Why he was there & why he took my co-worker's chair is a story for another day! LOL

Love your words, Charlene. You are indeed a talent for that connection between the H/H and that first sight - well everything too, smell, taste.
Didn't want to stop reading!! So glad I own those books, and now more motivated than ever to get them read.
I have to agree with what has been said, first sight, then the eyes connect and there is just that understanding there, that's when I fall in love, and that's what I love to read or write in romance. You hit the nail on the head. Sorry to be late.
Thank you all for stopping by and commenting! It's great to see new faces, er, avatars? Lol. Welcome!
So glad you liked my heroines' first sights of their heroes. In case you didn't realize, the second example with Salana is from my Aumelan series and will be the next novel to come out. :) Still editing on it. Chad, Salana, Dee and Styne are excited to get to meet you all.
That is too funny, Catherine! The guy that stole the chair, stole your heart.
37 years together? 40? Wow, you guys are really blessed to have found loves to last so long. I know Sharon is up there too.
I'm drawing for the winner now and will post it at the bottom of the post.
Good Luck Everyone!
