G+ Strategy

G+ Strategy

"What am I supposed to do with G+?"

"I barely have time for Facebook, Twitter, and my blog."

This is what I keep hearing from writers. I get it believe me. Personally for myself and for some of my clients I devised a preliminary strategy. Now this isn't expert advice but a sharing of experience.

*G+ is not Facebook...yet. It's proving it could be. But not yet. With that said I still spend majority of my time on FB.
*You don't want to be playing catch up when G+ really takes. So work on it a little now.
*Create circles (much like Twitter) lists and make it a goal to find and add five people a week to add to those circles.
*When on blogs and you share it on FB and Twitter and there is a 1+ button hit it too. It's like hitting the like button or retweeting.
*If sharing a blog post on your networks Always share here too! I know you have to make a special trip to do it since G+ won't connect to Hootsuite or other dashboards yet.
But it is a must!!! Why you ask? Because G+ is connected to the world's biggest search engine Google.

Ever check your referring stats? Which site refers you the most? Usually it's Google.

And that's my advice. Do with it what you will? What tips do you have?

Yeah, I would be that writer you mention in the beginning - the one that doesn't have time for AN OTHER social network! LOL.

I'll admit, Google is my favorite search engine, but...dang...do I really need to learn the in's and out's of yet an other social network when FB and Twitter are already working for me? :(

No Danielle, just be there. That's all I suggest. Set up a profile, post stuff once a week. Just be there for now.

I began using +1G a while back...and it is like FB to me. I don't do Twitter, so +1G works well as another social network, and it doesn't take a lot of time. And it doesn't take long to make friends either.

Nice post Bri. Thank you.

Bri, I feel like you know something I don't know...Like G+'s secret plans for world domination or something. LOL.

Okay, I'll look into it this week. ;)

Thanks for the heads up. I am on G+ but I'm not sure I'd make a point of going in once every week, now I'll try to do that.

Great tips again, Bri. I like the doing it little by little, every day. Thanks for helping to keep us out there. We're so lucky to have you as a resource.

Oh yes, and everyone who happens to stop by. We all benefit from your wisdom. Thanks so much.
